Josh Friedman, a trumpeter, guitarist, composer, arranger, producer, and educator, has studied music since he was five. Born in small town Munster, IN Josh began to play the trumpet at age nine. At 18, he began his training at the Cincinnati Conservatory of music. While in Cincinnati he taught as the head trumpet faculty and assistant jazz instructor at the Cincinnati School for the Creative and Performing Arts. In 2003, he earned both a Bachelors Degree in Music and a Bachelors Degree in Music Education with a status of Professional Standing from The Ohio State University. In 2009 he earned a Masters Degree in Music from The Bob Cole Conservatory of Music at California State University in Long Beach.
Mr. Friedman has performed as a soloist and with various professional ensembles in over fifty communities in the US and Canada. As a featured artist in residence he has performed in Prague, Vienna, Bulgaria, Poland, Germany, and Israel.
JAZZ ENSEMBLES: Josh Friedman is available as a performer on trumpet with jazz ensembles ranging from a duet up to a septet. His groups are ideal for weddings, private parties, and corporate events.
GUITAR SOLOIST: Josh Friedman has two different types of performances that he plays as a guitarist. The first is as a singer/songwriter, and the second is as a soloist with background tracks. These sets of music are perfect for cocktail hours, dinners, and small events that require some up-scale music.
JEWISH MUSIC: As a guitarist and singer, Josh Friedman has an extensive amount of experience song leading and leading Jewish services at a variety of temples and summer camps.
MOSTLY KOSHER: This group is an eight piece ensemble that plays traditional Jewish music. Josh is their trumpet player!
